Hire
The advantage of renting a machine is that it is a fixed monthly outlay with no initial capital expenditure required. Rental does not include installation of the machine but does include all maintenance costs and breakdown cover. Its main disadvantage is that it is expensive per month and the machine never belongs to the hirer. It can be a useful option however for trials and for short term contracts as machines can be hired for as little as six months.

Lease
Leasing has the advantage of offering the lowest cost per month and is a good way to spread the cost of purchase over either a three or five year period. With only the first month payment as a deposit, it is a simple and inexpensive way to buy a machine. At the end of the payment period the title of the machine can be transferred to the lessee for a small pre-arranged sum.
